About the Position
We are seeking a dynamic Special Project Coordinator with proven experience in early childhood education and family engagement. The ideal candidate will have a background in coordinating developmental programs for young children and their families, including curriculum planning, staff training, and parent education initiatives. In this role, you will manage specially-funded projects, analyze activities into actionable tasks, and ensure alignment with district standards and grant requirements. Responsibilities include leading project meetings, supporting staff performance, monitoring budgets and expenditures, and maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local regulations. You will collaborate with community partners, facilitate parent engagement activities, and oversee documentation and evaluation systems to achieve project outcomes. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and foster cooperation among diverse teams. Prior experience in project management within an educational environment is required, along with a commitment to supporting children’s school readiness and family involvement.

Under the supervision of administrative staff, perform the duties necessary to successfully implement the activities of a specially-funded project.
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet characteristics required by project narrative.
Experience and Education: Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent; five years of experience as a project manager or senior level administrative assistant, preferably with two years in educational environment. A maximum of four years education may be substituted for experience on a basis of two years education for one year of experience. Must have prior experience in leadership roles.
KNOWLEDGE:
State, federal, and local regulations and laws relating to program.
Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:
- DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
- TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
- Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
